Aaron Long Receives Red Bulls Call Up

New York Red Bull II defender Aaron Long has made the jump to the senior team.

Long will join the New York Red Bulls on a season-long loan from the team’s USL affiliate. The 23 year-old defender has been a consistent fixture for USL’s New York Red Bull II, playing in 22 games and contributing to 15 clean sheets.

Long first appeared with the New York Red Bulls senior team in the CONCACAF Champions League where he has made two starts. Previously, he was with the Portland Timbers organization, playing in a majority of the USL Portland Timbers FC 2 games last season.

Long will be available immediately for the the team’s trip to Toronto this Sunday night. He will also still be able to play in New York Red Bull II games which will be starting their playoffs in a few weeks time.
