The Equadorian National team managed to attract two straight 40k plus crowds to Citifield.

Barcelona SC and Club Sport Emelec will face off at Red Bull Arena on October 10th at 8pm. It will be their first meeting on New York soil in 20 years (Emelec defeated Barcelona 1-0 at Downing Stadium on Randalls Island).

“We are excited to welcome to Red Bull Arena a game that is considered by many the biggest rivalry in Ecuadorian club soccer,” said New York Red Bulls Sporting Director Erik Soler.

Currently, Barcelona is 1st and Emelec 3rd in Equador’s Serie A table. For a taste of what this rivalry is all about, check out the highlight package above from an earlier encounter this year.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, August 29th at 10am.
