Today, Sky Blue FC announced that two of its players, forward Nadia Nadim and goalkeeper Lauren Bledsoe will spend the NWSL offseason with Danish club Fortuna Hjørring in the Elitedivisionen.

Standout striker Nadim, a member of the Danish national team, is entering her fourth season with Fortuna Hjørring. Bledsoe, an NSCAA All-American Wake Forest University graduate, joined the NWSL in 2015 after spending a season with Idrettsklubben Grand Bodø of the Norwegian League.

Sky Blue’s Head Coach Jim Gabarra shared his enthusiasm for the loan; “It is important for players to continue their development by remaining active and playing in competitive games. In terms of Nadia, this will be an easy transition because she returns to a familiar training environment and heads back to school, which was her everyday life before coming to Sky Blue FC. With Aubrey, this is a great opportunity for her to get some additional game experience under her belt, and that is important for her personal development as a player.”

Nadim and Bledsoe will rejoin Sky Blue FC for the 2016 NWSL season.
