HARRISON, N.J. – Oft-injured New York Red Bulls midfielder Ian Christianson is taking his healthy legs to Florida.

The Red Bulls have loaned out the Georgetown product to Orlando City Soccer Club for the remainder of 2014. However, New York may recall the 23-year-old at any point.

Christianson has had a tough go in his early career in New York. Originally drafted 22nd in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, Christianson has failed to make a single first team appearance — save for a second-half substitution stint in last year’s friendly against Olympique Lyonnais. Christianson fractured his fifth metatarsal during his rookie year, forcing him to undergo season ending surgery to correct the issue. The same injury reoccurred earlier this year, but Christianson has since recovered and is fully training with the first team.

The young midfielder was a valuable member of Georgetown’s team, making 78 appearances (77 starts) in his four years at the University, scoring 14 goals, and adding 10 assists.
