New York Red Bull defender Roy Miller is heading to the Copa Centroamericana.

Costa Rican Head Coach Pablo Wanchope made his final roster selections for the coming tournament, including Red Bull left fullback Miller amongst the 25-man roster. Miller was previously selected in the provisional team roster, but has earned a return trip with Los Ticos.

The FIFA calendar runs from September 1st through the 11th, making his absence on the club level a certainty.  However, the Copa Centroamericana is set from the 3rd to the 13th., putting Miller in a precarious position for the Red Bulls’ August 31st away date against rival D.C. United, and eliminating him completely from the team’s September 6th date against Sporting K.C. and a September 10th home tilt against D.C..   Six of the seven teams go on to the final day of the tournament, putting Miller in a bind if Costa Rica advance to either the third, second or first place matches.  New York take on Philadelphia on the 13th.

In a worst case scenario, that would be four matches without arguably New York’s most reliable defender.

Here is the Costa Rican roster, followed by a schedule of dates for the Copa:
