When you are Chelsea Head Coach Jose Mourinho, drama just seems to gravitate your way.

Weeks after leaving his post with Real Madrid, the infamous “Special One” is already set to meet his former team before the European season even kicks off thanks to a 2-0 victory over A.C. Milan in the ICC semi-final in front of 39,764 fans at MetLife. That victory, coupled with Real Madrid’s semi-final win, brings both teams to a drama filled ICC Final set to take place at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Kevin De Bryune put Chelsea on top in the 29th minute, taking an Eden Hazard pass and slotting his attempt to the far left post. Andre Schurrle put the game away in extra time with a sublime volley, taking a pass from Victor Mosses and slamming his attempt towards the right post.

While Chelsea look towards a Real Madrid showdown, A.C. Milan will open the Miami double-header with a match against the L.A. Galaxy for third place.

In the first match of Sunday’s double-header, Valencia steamrolled past Inter Milan 4-0. That results puts them in a fifth place showdown against Everton for fifth place while Juventus and Inter Milan face-off for 7th place in another double-header at Sun Life.

Here are the match highlights from Chelsea’s victory over Milan:

  • I am wondering if these types of games are really tests for a future Global league. I think 20 team global league will be the way of the future, something that combines all the big markets. Some of the money would be funneled to there domestic league. It would be amazing to see ManU play Boca or Barcelona play The Galaxy and so on. Relegate the worst teams over a 2 year period back to there domestic league.Promote the team with best overall record in there domestic league into a FIFA club type tournament and take the top three finishers into the Global League. I think it would help the Domestic leagues a great deal all over the world money wise and player development wise. Just a thought.
