The Deuce returns.

According to the Seattle Sounders’ General Manager and President of Soccer Garth Lagerwey, United States Men’s International team striker Clint Dempsey has been medically cleared to return to training.

The 33-year-old Texas native participated in team drills early Tuesday morning.

Dempsey had been out indefinitely due to an irregular heartbeat. After the initial report in August, the former-Fulham striker was forced to sit out the remainder of the Major League Soccer season as well as the playoffs Рin which the Seattle Sounders won the Championship.

Lagerway discussed how Dempsey still has some way to go before making a full recovery back onto the field. Seattle plans are allowing the striker to participate in “some” preseason matches.
