NEW YORK – As reported on EOS last week, YES Network confirmed veteran play-by-play man Joe Tolleson and current BeIN analyst Ian Joy as their broadcaster team for New York City FC matches this year.

“I could not be happier with the collective talent that we have assembled for our New York City FC coverage,” said John J. Filippelli, President of Production and Programming, YES Network in a statement.  “Joe and Ian are among the finest sportscasters in the business and have exhibited tremendous skill and versatility throughout their respective careers.”

Tolleson is a familiar name around the local soccer bubble.  The voice of the Metrostars for several years, Tolleson has made his name with the MSG network, covering soccer, hockey and several other sports.  He is also the executive producer at SiriusXM’s soccer-focused channel, SiriusXMFC channel 94.

Joy is a former professional player who plied his trade in England, Germany and the United States.  In fact, the Scottish native played under current NYCFC coach Jason Kreis during his years at Real Salt Lake.  Joy retired in 2011, joining both FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake on TV and radio broadcasts.  Since, he has been a fixture at BeIN, offering his insights on the beautiful game.

NYCFC’s inaugural home match is coming this Sunday against the New England Revolution.

YES’ first New York City FC broadcast will be on Saturday, March 21, when New York City FC visits Colorado (4 pm ET).  YES will air a special pre-season special at 3:30 pm ET prior to that match telecast.
