Following U.S. Soccer’s decision to sanction both the North American Soccer League (NASL) and United Soccer League (USL) as provisional division two leagues, the New York Cosmos have finally broken their silence.
Cosmos COO Erik Stover offered a statement to the fans on Saturday morning which, in part, confirmed the team’s full participation in the NASL competition this season.

As reported by EoS on Friday, new Cosmos owner Rocco Commisso will now take on the majority ownership role with the team. Sources tell EoS that one of his first actions will be addressing back pay issues and the retention of former staffers and players.
