Costa Rican coach Jorge Luis Pinto must really like Roy Miller.

Despite the defender’s recent meltdown against the San Jose Earthquakes, Pinto has called Miller into camp for the national team’s coming World Cup Qualifiers. Among the opponents ahead? The United States on March 22nd.

Miller has been a fixture with the Costa Rican National team over the past few years, but failed to make the starting XI against Panama last month (a 2-2 draw). Prior to that, he started in 2 of 3 qualifiers last September and October in victories against Guyana and El Salvador. He sat on the bench during Costa Rica’s 1-0 loss to Mexico.

The Red Bulls defender joins Real Salt Lake’s Alvaro Saborio and Columbus Crew striker Jairo Arrieta for the coming fixtures.
