Curtis On Seeing Red!: Tyler Adams To Join First Team In 2016

While the New York Red Bulls are fully concentrated on the Supporters’ Shield and MLS Cup, they also have an eye on their roster for next season.

Red Bulls Sporting Director Ali Curtis returned to the Seeing Red! podcast this week, revealing some interesting potential roster moves for 2016 — including the addition of a long-awaited homegrown talent.

“We have our eyes on a couple of players that we’ll add,” Curtis shared. “Tyler Adams will already join the team so that will be exciting to me, get him back from the World Cup and get him going in preseason. There are two other young players we are excited about and see if we can conclude those deals.”

Adams, 16, was signed to a USL deal this winter, joining New York Red Bulls II for their inaugural campaign. He featured in 11 matches, starting nine for the club. Prior to that, he spent four years in the Red Bull Academy. The 5’9″ midfielder is considered one of the team’s brightest prospects.

Adams will be 17 this coming February.
