Following a summer plagued with constant transfer rumors, United States International DeAndre Yedlin has reportedly completed a move to Tyneside club Newcastle United.

After a video surfaced this morning from the Newcastle Chronicle, sources close to ESPNFC have confirmed that the former Seattle Sounders defender is ready to complete a deal with Newcastle United. Yedlin is set to arrive at St. James’ Park later today to undergo a medical in order to complete the deal, which is estimated to be around £5 million or $6.6 million.

After yet another unsettling offseason with Tottenham Hotspur, rumors flourished around the 23-year-old defender, suggesting his time in North London would be coming to an end. Upon returning to White Hart Lane following a successful loan stint with Sunderland AFC, Newcastle’s rival, Yedlin was expected to be shopped around by Spurs.

According to multiple reports, the American defender was targeted by fellow English clubs Sunderland AFC and Aston Villa as well as Turkish side Trabzonspor. However, after today’s breaking news, it looks as if Newcastle beat the other clubs to the punch.

Further information broke earlier this week implying that the Tyneside clubs looked to acquire Yedlin under different circumstances. Newcastle looked to buy while Sunderland wanted to sign the American on loan. Ultimately, Tottenham wanted to offload Yedlin permanently and elected to sell him, giving meaning to the final deal.
