Dempsey leads veteran group added to USMNT roster

With Landon Donovan’s final match out of the way, U.S. Men’s National Team boss Jurgen Klinsmann has called in his first team stars for next week’s friendly against Honduras.

Six veterans led by captain Clint Dempsey have joined the USMNT camp for their final friendly of the month.  The Sounders’ striker joins Michael Bradley, Matt Besler, Jermaine Jones, Sean Johnson and Graham Zusi for the match, replacing the injured Joe Gyau, the retiring Landon Donovan as well as John Brooks, Luis Gil, Omar Gonzalez and Brad Guzan.

Gyau returns to Borussia Dortmund after suffering a left knee sprain.
