To those that feel Don Garber has something against the New York Red Bulls, you may want to take a look at this.

New York Red Bull II will host MLS Commissioner Don Garber on Monday as part of a small ceremony at Montclair State University, the home for NYRB II  in 2017. Following the event, the team will begin taking deposits towards 2017 USL season tickets. Don Garber, a resident of Montclair, New Jersey, will be honored with the label of NYRB II’s first season ticket holder.

Garber and other attendees will be touring the facilities at the university following upgrades made by the New York Red Bulls to house the USL team. MSU Soccer Park will also house the Red Bulls PDL reserve side as well as all future US Open Cup games for the MLS New York Red Bulls.

The past two seasons, New York Red Bull II has played at Red Bull Arena and the Red Bull training facility while the team searched for a permanent home. In 2015 the team played one game at Columbia University’s Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium but were never able to return do to arrangements with the institution. There is still a likely possibility that NYRB II will play a game or two at Red Bull Arena next season as part of a double header.

New York Red Bull II is coming off a very successful season where the team raised the USL Championship and grabbed several key individual player awards. Brandon Allen was named Rookie of the Year, Aaron Long Defender of the Year and Head Coach John Wolyniec received Coach of the Year honors. The 2017 season begins in March.
