EoS Celebrates It’s 2nd Birthday

SoccerBirthdayCakeMarch 1st.

For so many soccer loving aficionados in this country, today is First Kick eve; a day where fans count the hours until the moment they can once again cheer on their team.

For EoS … well … it’s our birthday.

Two years ago, I began to formulate a concept for a new soccer website. The idea? To create a site that:

1. Is New York centric.
2. Offers original news.
3. Provides thought provoking opinion pieces, analysis and content.
4. Shines a light on the local supporter’s culture.
5. Keeps an eye on the bigger picture by covering the national game as well.

Over the past 24 months, we’ve broken major local, national and international news, added to the narrative of the local soccer community, brought a New York voice to the national stage and given the uninitiated a behind the scenes look at the passionate culture that exists within the supporter’s groups of our area. That content has helped us reach hundreds of thousands of original readers worldwide, and for that we are truly grateful.

None of that would be possible without our tremendous staff (namely Patrick MacDonald, Eric Giacometti, Jason Corliss, Christian Araos, Mike Vallo and yes, the RBNY Optimist), our excellent contributors and, of course, you – the fans of this beautiful game.

From all of us at EoS, thank you for making this such a memorable run. None of it means a thing without your support. Feel free to share with us any thoughts, suggestions or improvements you would like to see on the site. We are always receptive to your ideas.

It can’t be said enough, but just for good measure, let’s do it one more time ….

THANK YOU!

- Dave Martinez
