F.C. New York Coach Matt Weston Resigns

On Monday, F.C. New York coach Matt Weston quietly resigned from his post, leaving player and assistant coach Paul Shaw to manage the side.

Weston earned a 1-3-2 record while at the helm for New York, picking up the franchises first victory against the Charleston Battery 1-0 on the road. They currently sit fifth in the USLPRO National Division.

Shaw was the captain of FCNY, and it’s most experienced player. Through his short time with the team, he has garnered a good amount of respect amongst his former teammates. Shaw spent years in the lower leagues of England, playing for Sheffield United, Millwall and Gillingham amongst others. This will mark the first time he will lead a team as their head coach.

We are looking into the sudden change, and will be reporting the news as it breaks.
