Yesterday, the Cosmos made news with the leaked release of a potential bid for a new stadium.
Today, the renderings have been made public by the club itself.
As part of the “Elmont Town Crossing” proposal, a 25,000 seat arena will be the focal point of a vibrant new project that will include the erection of hotels, eateries and retail space in an area crushed by the economic recession. The proposed project would create more than 500 construction jobs, and over 3,000 full-time permanent jobs between the stadium and it’s surrounding commercial area. The construction alone would bring in over $500 million for Nassau County with over $200 million in annual revenue as well.
Of course, the icing on the cake is the cost; the $400 million project will be privately financed.
As discussed yesterday on EoS, the proposed land for the stadium borders Queens and Long Island, but is considered Nassau proper.

@DanCovello @mconiaris @GrantWahl It’s def looking less likely but if #NY2 in Flushing doesnt happen.. http://t.co/Ud27JYSq #ContingencyPlan
New angle: Instead of paying $300 million for a stadium and $100 for the expansion fee, we’re going to spend $400 million for a stadium, a community park, and a strip mall.
Those renderings look enticing. Though I have to wonder what that elongated window segment is. I can only assume it’s one giant lounge for Cosmos fans or something.
This would certainly make the multiple track and platforms of the LIRR more useful.
never gonna happen
Aw man, I hope one of those businesses has a tv because that’s the only way people are going to be able to watch MLS over there.
