HARRISON, N.J. – After two straight extra time games in the USL playoffs, New York Red Bull II head coach John Wolyniec is concerned about his team’s endurance heading into the biggest game in team history.

“You have to wonder how much we’ve got in the tank,” said Wolyniec after his team’s 4-3 shootout win over Louisville City FC. “I trust that we have a lot to give and we’ll see in the game this weekend, but I feel confident and I’m sure the group does as well.”

Many of the players on Red Bull II have logged a large amount of time on the field, with many seeing their first real professional action in 2016. Ten players have played 20 or more regular season games with many of those same players appearing in each of the three playoff games.

Add on to that the recent playoff run, which includes two back-to-back shootout victories, and you can see why weary legs weigh heavy on the mind of Wolyniec.

“We’ve put so much into it and we’ve overcome so many obstacles,” said Wolyniec. “You have to think that with one game left that we’ve got a lot to give.”
