RYAN MEARA CAN GET THE JOB DONE
Nine games, five wins, two straight matches, two straight shutouts. Is Ryan Meara hitting his stride? Is he for real?
So far, the answers seem to be YES and YES.
Say what you will about the Red Bulls, but Ryan Meara has been about the only constant on this team aside from Thierry Henry, and that is some pleasant company for a rookie goalkeeper. For the second match in a row, he was tested in the waning minutes by an inspired attack, and for the second match in a row, he came up huge under pressure.
Renny Vega who? This kid has earned his spot and it will take a bulldozer to budge him from it.

I really liked what Solli did in that game coming back. Definitely should keep him up there. And Lindpere? Awesome in the middle (especially since Tainio is out)
Great post Dave!
I am shocked by the result – pleasantly so but still shocked. What an incredible team effort.
LA 2012 = Reb Bull 2011 – great on paper but hard to figure on the pitch
Who needs some old guy from Germany when we have the Estonian Express back?
Joel is much better in the middle.
Its not quite Lin-sanity but lets see what these 2nd stringers can do over the next few weeks!
Lin(pere)-sanity? He is much better in the middle. Maybe Backe read Dave’s interview with Joel. As for the team, they actually showed some adventure against the DPs, et al., but effectively parked the bus for the last 15 minutes. Meara’s flying save may be a Save of the Year candidate. I’m looking forward to Wednesday night vs. the Dynamo.
