Five Lessons Learned: New York Red Bulls 3 – 0 Charleston Battery

For those that thought Kenny Cooper was a product of Thierry Henry’s majesty, think again.

Major League Soccer’s top scorer did it again. Settling a Mehdi Ballouchy feed in the box, the Red Bulls big man used his trademark touch to settle the ball, shield a forgiving defender, and blast a shot on a blistering swivel to hand his team the lead.

Coopers goal set the tone for the rest of the match as he has done many times this season.

“A couple of times this year, we have gotten the early goal I believe and it’s always good when you can get off to a good start and get the lead,” Cooper said. “Fortunately we were able to follow it up with two more and keep a clean sheet. It was a good night for us.”

  • Dave – thanks much for posting NE high/lowlights. Sounds like the craziest game ever!
    Announcer was good too.

RB – decent performance. Got the job done. Encouraging points as you noted.

    • Wish the Revs game would have been live streamed as well. Quite the finish. NY has their work cut out against the Isles.
