Five Lessons Learned: Red Bulls 3 – 1 Crew

A MASSIVE RESULT

With the victory, the Red Bulls now have 49 points with six games to go. They trail Kansas City by two points and the Chicago Fire by one. They have a game in hand on the Houston Dynamo who are currently fourth with 46 points and DC United usurps the Crew in fifth with 44 points. The Crew remain in the race with all of 2 points separating them from a berth.

This Wednesday, the Red Bulls host Sporting KC in their second of three matches this season. For the second time, first place will be on the line and a winning result will prove crucial for their playoff hopes. New York is keenly aware of their dominance at home. A berth at the top of the East will earn them a “home field advantage” by having them host the second leg of their playoff opponents.
