I may not agree with all of our friend Pat Davila’s assertions, but the principle remains the same; something has to change for this weekends match at Gillette.
Lloyd Sam was an explosive addition to the Red Bulls offense. He has been training for nearly a month in hopes of getting a starting call. Since Dane Richards was let go, there hasn’t been a speedy threat to get in behind the defenders. Sam could be it.
Speaking of changes, how about doing away with the whole three defensive midfielders thing? Rafa Marquez deserves a starting nod, though I would highly doubt he would risk injury on the notoriously hard pitch at Gillette. Dax McCarty has been the most effective two way midfielder the Red Bulls have had all season. Keep him in the middle.
Pat’s other point – bringing back Barklage – is also one I support.
As for the strikers, Cooper and Le Toux are relatively rested. They could make a good one two punch up top, allowing Cahill to drop back to midfield.
(Yes, that means I don’t feel Henry will make the trip either).

A spelling bee between the lone person who made that tifo and the worst spellers in the Viking Army will be held before the Toronto game. :D

The quotes from Hans on the second tweet page show his “clever” logic. We have no offense in a three DM lineup, so take out the effective two-way player (Dax) for the gun-shy forward (Cooper), and leave in the two DMs coming back from injury? At halftime, taking out Taino, putting in Sam, and moving Dax back centrally could have helped disrupt KC’s well-organized plans. Maybe it wasn’t RB’s day, but they could have put up a better fight.
BTW. Sporting KC is not from Kansas so it doesn’t really make sense.
Yup. Have friends in Missouri that point that out constantly … double fail.
Actually SKC IS from Kansas. There is of course two KCs, but LSP is in Kansas City, Kansas. As is their previous home, CAB. Arrowhead is in Missouri.
The Missouri based fans just get really touchy about it, hence why some ppl complain when ppl refer to the team as Kansas.
it always bugs me to know we got good players who can play D but none of the back four plays to there true potential and if they don’t do it in the playoffs we are going to be sent home fast
