Finally, New York City FC fans can enjoy the spoils of victory.

For the first time in seven New York Derby matches, New York City FC finally earned victory, beating the Red Bulls 2-0 at Yankee Stadium. They did so on the back of a dynamite performance from Jack Harrison — and some tactical wizadry from Patrick Vieira. The Red Bulls were completely owned in their final third, with a new-look five-man defense stifling the Red Bulls high-press system. The result? An unlikely win against a usually dominant opponent.

On the other side of the City, the New York Cosmos opened their fall campaign in victory — and revealed a bit about their priorities in the process.
