Well, that was something now wasn’t it?
The Hudson River Derby made international headlines this weekend as the Red Bulls beat New York City FC 4-1 at Red Bull Arena, taking home bragging rights for the second year in a row.
But the victory was secondary to the drama of the match. Marsch vs. Vieira. Felipe vs. Lampard. The officiating. The scuffles. The emotions. In every way, this Derby grew of age on the weekend, making an indelible mark on the lives of fans from both sides of the Hudson.
This is one of those weeks where I wish this column had more than five points to it. But lets keep with the format.
