USL Goalkeeper of the Year Brandon Miller Joins OC Blues

USL Goalkeeper of the Year Brandon Miller will be taking his talents out west as the twenty-five year old goes from the Eastern Conference and USL Champion Rochester Rhinos to the Western Conference Champion Orange County Blues FC.

“I’m very excited about my move to the OC Blues FC,” said Miller. “After speaking with some of the coaches and front office staff, I feel as though the organization is moving the right direction having finished first in the West last season and I want to come in and help the team take the next steps towards winning a USL Championship.”

Miller had one of the best seasons of any USL goalkeeper in 2015, allowing only eleven goals all season and setting the shutout record with thirteen. The former Rhino also holds the record for best single season goals-against average with 0.54.

This move represents the first major signing for OC this off-season. The team recently resigned midfielders Chino Santana and Nikola Ilich for the 2016 campaign. This season stood as an impressive turnaround as the team went from second to last in 2014 to winning the Conference the following year.

“At the OC Blues FC, it is always our goal to win a USL Championship,” said Head Coach and General Manager Oliver Wyss. “Brandon is a top-quality professional and his signing shows the clear intention of our organization for the 2016 season.”
