Highlights: Brazil 1-0 Ecuador at MetLife Stadium

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The over 35,000 fans at MetLife Stadium may have come out to witness Brazilian superstar Neymar in action against Ecuador, but it will be the name of Willian they will remember.

Brazil took a 1-0 victory over Ecuador on the back of a perfectly planned set piece.  Midfielder Oscar lined up a dead ball from 30 yards out, feeding Neymar a grounded pass instead of launching in a lob towards the area.  Neymar one-timed a chip behind the Ecuadorian defense, springing Willian on net.  A deft touch with the outside of his foot sent keeper Alexander Dominguez sprawling but the ball fell just out of reach.

Brazil looked revived, particularly on the offensive side, and displayed a stronger defensive tact than their World Cup team.  Dunga left the match pleased with his team while Ecuador’s interim manager Sixto Vizuete lamented lost opportunities.
