“FC Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are two of the most well known teams in the world and having them square off is a treat for soccer fans in New York and New Jersey,” said Charlie Stillitano, Chairman of Relevent Sports. “New York and New Jersey are incredible soccer communities with passionate fan bases. We are excited to pit these elite clubs against each other in one of the marquee matches of the 2016 International Champions Cup.”

  • EPL fan

Finally some real teams not like the Red Bulls or NYCFC although the COSMOS are quite good the last couple of years.

    • slowleftarm

Oh good, EPL fan back to tell us how everything sucks and is much better in the country he left behind. Fascinating….

      • EPL fan

any of the team above would destroy the teams in the MLS – MAJOR LEAGUE DISAPPOINTMENT !!!! 20 years of building that crap soccer. hahahahahaaha Loser !

        • slowleftarm

Yeah EPL looked great in the champions league. That league has been around since 1888 so what’s their excuse?

          • EPL fan

            Please you are embarrassing yourself

            • slowleftarm

Arsenal v. Barcelona and Chelsea v. PSG looked even more lopsided than the MLS/LigaMX CCL games. Now that’s embarrassing.

              • EPL fan

no lets talk about the Red Bulls vs any of those teams ACE

                • slowleftarm

You’ll have to show me where someone said RBNY could beat these teams – otherwise you are arguing against a straw man. No one has made these arguments that you are trying to rebut. Please pay attention. Thank you.

                  • EPL fan

you have been saying this for years. Why do you continually lie ? why ? please explain.

                    • Smith

Hi hater, not sure if you remeber, but last summer the mighty blues of Chelsea came to Harrison and got beat by those terrible Red Bulls… And it wasn’t a B team either. Fabregas, Costa, Oscar, Willian, Zouma, Ivanovic all played.

                    • Smith

Please do yourself and everyone else a favor and go cry in your pillow, not your keyboard.

                    • The Don

You are disappointing me with your attitude.

                    • slowleftarm

                      This schtick is tired.

                    • The Don

You are talking to THE DON in this way ? I am not happy with you.

                    • slowleftarm

It was ok a few times but at least say something original. It just isn’t funny.

                    • The DON

You will not be made captain as a result of this.

                    • slowleftarm

Trust me dude – this is old. Try something new.

                    • Sammy the Bull

                      Slow chill.

  • Garber

This is not approved by me.
I am resoonsible for everything soccer in america. I attend all the FIFA meetings I dont need to be in.

    • Don

We must add team Garber aka NYCFC to the tournament. What’s wrong with you people?

  • Sammy the Red Bull

I am just glad the NYRB won’t be interupting their season again with this useless tournament. Though, I am sure the boys over at Once a Metro will be disappointed, the ICC Tournament was like their wet dream.

No MLS teams should be playing exhibition games in the middle of the season, in what is already a congested fixture list.

  • Dax

We must defeat these foreign visitors.
I am so jealous they fill Metlife Stadium. We have the supporters shield!!!
    Hear me roar!!!!

  • C Burnette

I would rather watch the golden girls repeats than MLS.

  • Dale Jr.

20 Years of MLS this is what NY area has to show for it.
    Part 1
-A team with two names, two stadiums and a revolving door for coaches ( Bruce Arena, Bora Milutinovic, Carlos Queiroz, Bob Bradley, Hans Backe, Juan Osorio, Eddie Firmani, Calros Alberto Parreira, Alfonso Mondelo, Mo Johnston, Mike Petke, the current dude)
    Goose Eggs for MLS Cups

    Part 2

MLS takes THAT successful formula and poof…TEAM GARBER. Horrible stadium. 2nd coach in as mean years of existence.
Ugly Red Headed Stepchild to both parent companies.

It’s a broken record with the MLS…keeps playing the same tune over and over and over and over……

  • Blythe

Does anyone know if Cristiano will be joining his team for this? My little boy is dreaming of seeing him play in person and would be disappointed if he did not show up. I realize it’s not a “big” game, but I think he should come.

  • Sandro

    Does Ronaldo will play!?
    Any one knows!?
