They caught him.

The MLS Disciplinary Committee have suspended New York Red Bulls defender Jamison Olave two games for violent conduct during the team’s 1-1 draw against Real Salt Lake on Wednesday.

The infraction in question? Olave and Real Salt Lake forward Olmes Garcia exchanged words in the 77th minute of their midweek encounter. As they turned away, Olave took a swipe at Garcia — below the belt. Garcia embellished the infraction, only to earn a yellow card of his own from the World Cup returning Mark Gieger.

Olave, meanwhile, walked away scot-free.

Here is a video of the infraction:

The timing of his suspension could not be worse. The Red Bulls are completing the final two games of a vital three game series heading into their final two-week break of the season. After that, the MLS campaign kicks off into high gear, with CONCACAF Champions League action crowding their schedule.

Newcomer Damien Perrinelle continues to work his way to fitness, leaving the burden of responsibility on Matt Miazga, Ibrahim Sekagya or Armando.
