Johnson Suffers Thigh Injury; Questionable for World Cup Qualifiers

On Saturday, Fabian Johnson left Borussia Monchengladbach’s match against Schalke with a strain of the adductor in his right thigh.

The club has since labeled the midfielder “out until further notice”.

Johnson’s injury puts the player’s involvement in the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Guatemala in serious jeopardy.

In a statement Borussia say that Johnson underwent Fabian Johnson underwent an MRI that “revealed a groin strain for the USA international. (Johnson) will be sidelined for the time being.”

With Johnson most likely out, the opportunity is there for a player to make their case that they belong in Jurgen Klinsmann’s Starting XI.

The first USMNT qualifier is set for March 25th in Guatemala City.
