Watch: Tim Cahill scores magnificent bicycle kick, pushes Australia to semifinals

The New York Red Bulls’ wayward midfielder Tim Cahill is still making headlines for Australia.

Facing a crucial quarterfinal encounter against China in the Asian Cup, Cahill scored not one, but two goals to lead the Socceroos to victory — including an unbelievable bicycle kick that has everyone buzzing. Australia took Cahill’s brace towards a 2-0 victory.

For those wondering, his second goal was vintage Cahill; a pinpoint header that snuck past the keeper, sealing victory for the Socceroos.

They now await the winner of Japan vs. United Arab Emirates. Japan won the 2011 Asian Cup, beating Australia in the final.

Wonder if Ali C / Jesse Marsch detour to Australia for make or break conversations with Cahill….

With Cahill showing what he can do unleashed at forward, I certainly hope Ali and Marsch do whatever is necessary to keep Tim in NY. We would be unstoppable with him paired with BWP. Would also go a long way to helping alleviate some of the pain of the old guard rotating out / being tossed out entirely.

Cahill deserves better than anything RBNY has to offer.
