New Revs signing tears ACL: Just days after signing as a designated player for the New England Revolution, Xavier Kouassi tore his ACL in a match on Sunday. Kouassi was carted off the pitch in the second half of FC Sion’s Swiss SuperLeague match against Zurich. He was not scheduled to join the Revolution until the summer transfer window, but this injury will likely delay his MLS debut.

Arthur Blank diagnosed with cancer: Atlanta United owner Arthur Blank has revealed that he is battling prostate cancer. In a statement, Blank described the cancer as “treatable.” MLS commissioner Don Garber was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2014.

Rapids acquire Conor Doyle from DC: DC United has traded forward Conor Doyle to Colorado in exchange for a third-round SuperDraft pick. Doyle, 24, has experience in England with Derby County, having spent three years there before arriving in MLS. Doyle should not be confused with Kevin Doyle, the Irish forward who joined the Rapids last summer. United is thought to be pursuing AC Milan midfielder Antonio Nocerino.

Philadelphia Union acquire keeper Matt Jones on loan: Goalkeeper Matt Jones has joined the Union on loan from Belenenses in the Portuguese first division. Jones has a green card, and so will not occupy an international slot on Philly’s roster. Starting keeper Andre Blake is expected to miss time while representing Jamaica this summer, and Jones offers depth to Union.
