The New York club announced the jersey reveal through a friendly video in which a child and Andre Pirlo take center stage.

“I am honored to put on this new jersey because it represents my new home, New York City. I am excited whenever I play in the City’s colors in front of all of our amazing fans at Yankee Stadium,” said NYCFC star Andrea Pirlo.
“It was fun to do a video shoot with one of our young supporters. Our fans are the most important part of our Club and we want them to continue to be part of everything we do.”
The largest contrast to last year’s kit is the shorts. Instead of last season’s white shorts, the new home shorts will be a dark navy blue. As per usual, the jersey is designed by Adidas and will have NYCFC’s main sponsors Etihad Airways on the front. NYCFC also provided fans with a graphic to help explain each aspect of the jersey. Ranging from the orange accents to the flag of the city of New York, the club has an explanation for each addition.
