With a single game left in preseason, two unsigned players will be spared the unknown thanks to their efforts in this condensed preseason training camp.
The New York Red Bulls have announced the signing of their lone SuperDraft pick Ian Christianson and Supplemental pick Michael Bustamante.
“Ian and Michael have both shown us in preseason that they have the potential to become future contributors to our club,” said Red Bulls Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh. “Both of them have shown that they have the willingness to improve and we are pleased to track their progress this season.”
Christianson has enjoyed strong showings in his limited play for the team this preseason notching a goal through his early efforts. An impressive two way midfielder, he will be looked upon to provide depth in the middle, particularly for team starter Dax McCarty.
Bustamante is a four-time America East All-Conference First Teamer and NSCAA All-Northeast Region selection. Like Christianson, he has also earned himself a goal during an impressive run through preseason training.
They are the 23rd and 24th players signed to the Red Bulls roster. The New York Red Bulls continue to look at guest players and supplemental picks. Their current crop include Peguy Luyindula, Rafhael “Rafhina” Domingues, Marius Obekop, Ryan Clark and Andrew Ribeiro.

@EmpireOfSoccer Writing while puking guts out, impressive Dave!
How many open roster spots are there? (I realize the team may leave some of the spots unfilled).
