NY Minute: Cosmos Copa Brackets Announced, Red Bulls Updates, F.C. New York, More

A long and punishing month of June is over for the New York Red Bulls, with yet another taxing group of fixtures to greet them on the other side. The Bulls will face nine games in twenty nine days in a make or break month of July as the team rallies to compete for the Supporters Shield.

Will they be able to stay the course? One win in two months is hardly the formula for a Shield side. In order to solidify the team on both the defensive and offensive ends for a final push to the trophy, Red Bulls Coach Hans Backe and General Manager Erik Soler have brought in a transition player in Dax McCarty who may be the missing link they seek. In acquiring his services, they paid a hefty price; trading away the highly decorated offensive dynamo Dwayne De Rosario. Even so, McCarty may bring the kind of steady offensive distribution and defensive posture the Bulls will need if they intend to stay in the Shield race once July is complete.

McCarty and De Rosario have overtaken the local soccer headlines, but there is plenty more happening around town. Here are a few of the top stories you will be talking about in this, your New York Minute:
