NYCFC logoFor a bit less than one month — Friday, Aug. 31 to Sept. 21 — New York City FC will open NYCFC House in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District.

NYCFC House, the club’s first pop-up retail shop and “experiential space” (whatever that means) spans four floors at 446 West 14th Street and features a series of soccer-related events, exclusive products and a full range of team merchandise for purchase.

In an effort to go beyond a mere retail offering, NYCFC has scheduled a series of what it is calling daytime “Chalk Talks.” The first was held on Tuesday, before the space opened to the public, when NYCFC House hosted a news conference for U.S. Soccer ahead of Friday’s World Cup qualifier against Costa Rica at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J.

unnamedOnce the space opens to the public, events will be lead by NYCFC Coach Patrick Vieira, ESPN’s Libby Geist, the architect Rafael Viñoly, referees Howard Webb and Peter Walton, and others – in addition to including players and fans. The full calendar is here.

“NYCFC House harnesses the passion and energy of our fans and will give visitors of all ages and backgrounds a place to connect with our club,” Jon Patricof, the club’s president, said in a statement. “From daily Chalk Talks to unique retail items to a few surprises we will reveal in the near future, this will be a place any sports fan will want to visit. We have the best fans around and we are hopeful they will enjoy having a place to interact with our club in different ways outside of Yankee Stadium.”
