New York Red Bull II set the all time USL goal scoring record with a 4-0 win over FC Montreal at Red Bull Arena on Saturday night. Four different players scored, with three goals coming in the second half.

NYRB II peppered FC Montreal early in the half with Derrick Etienne Jr. nearly scoring in the first minute. Just a few minutes later Vincent Bezecourt took an attempt at breaking open the scoring, but it was Brandon Allen in the 20th minute that finally found net. It was Allen’s 14th goal of the season as his hot streak continues late in the season.

Similar to recent form, New York went on an offensive tear, scoring three times in the second half. Derrick Etienne found Florian Valot who scored in the 54th minute. From there the pressure was maintained as Etienne Jr. placed his name on the scoresheet 20 minutes later. Stefano Bonomo would add a fourth in stoppage time.

New York’s defensive season remains impressive as it is the team’s record 16th clean sheet of 2016. Even more impressive is that New York was able to shut down Anthony Jackson-Hamel, who has been one of USL’s most potent scorer in recent weeks.

Next week is NYRB II’s final regular season game, facing the Charleston Battery. New York is guaranteed the top spot in the Eastern Conference and is still waiting to see who their first round playoff opponent might be.
