New York Red Bull II has announced that their September 7th game against Harrisburg City Islanders will not be played at Red Bull Arena but instead on the road at Millersville University in Millersville, PA.

“In order to provide the highest field surface for both our USL and MLS teams as they hit the stretch runs of their seasons, we have agreed with Harrisburg to move our scheduled USL home match,” said NYRB II general manager Shaun Oliver. “With our MLS team already playing on the road this weekend, this break will allow the Red Bull Arena pitch to return to the standard that has come to be expected by both our players and opposing teams.”

Red Bull Arena has housed both New York Red Bulls and New York Red Bull II home games for the past two seasons. NYRB II was never meant to play their entire USL campaign in Harrison and will be moving to Montclair State University in 2017.

So far in 2016, Harrisburg has played a majority of their games at FNB Field, the home of minor league baseball franchise the Harrisburg Senators. From this point on the team will play their two remaining games at Millersville University, including this newly minted home game.

Currently NYRB II is in first place in the Eastern Conference with a comfortable lead on Louisville City in second place. While removing this home game does put them at a disadvantage, the team has played well away from Red Bull Arena and will hope to continue that trend in Millersville, PA.
