New York Red Bull II’s Saturday game against the Charleston Battery has been moved from Red Bull Arena to the confines of the Red Bull Training facility in Hannover, N.J.

The reasoning behind the move was for the IFAB Workshop for Video Assistant Referee Experiments. MLS is one of the few leagues leading the charge on video replay and has been using Red Bull Arena all week according to the team’s press release.

There was some suspicion of the game’s potential move to the training facility as the venue was listed as Red Bull Park on the USL schedule page. Still, nothing was made official until today’s announcement.

This will be the second game that Red Bull II has hosted at the training facility. Last season NYRB II played the Charlotte Independence to a 1-1 draw. The setting may be similar as it is expected to be extremely hot and humid with little cover for the teams during their 4PM kickoff time.

New York Red Bull II is coming off of a dramatic 2-1 win at Nippert Stadium against FC Cincinnati and is returning home where their record has been impressive at 11-1-5. As per the schedule on USL’s website, this is the only game that will be hosted at the Red Bull training facility.
