Marco Pappa reportedly stabbed: In a bizarre story from Seattle, police last month allegedly found former Sounders midfielder Marco Pappa with a stab wound in his stomach — while sharing an apartment with a beauty pageant winner. Pappa underwent surgery at a nearby hospital, but no arrests have yet been made in the matter, against Miss Washington USA or anyone else. Pappa has since been traded to the Colorado Rapids. It’s unclear whether they were aware of this incident at the time.

Orlando’s stadium pushed back to 2017: Orlando City’s new stadium will not be ready for this summer as previously planned, and the club will play all of 2016 at the Citrus Bowl. When OCSC first announced their move to MLS, they did so with the intention of having a soccer-specific stadium ready for at least part of their inaugural season. Funding delays made that an impossibility, and in turn offered the club a chance to adjust their attendance expectations. The new stadium will hold 26,500 people, and is planned to open now at the start of the 2017 season.

Bill Hamid undergoes surgery: Bill Hamid was sidelined by knee injuries at times in 2015, and underwent surgery on his meniscus Wednesday. It’s unclear whether the DC United goalkeeper will be ready in time for the start of their season; DC plays the first leg of a CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal against Queretaro on February 23rd.

Norberto Paparatto to return to Argentina: Timbers defender Norberto Paparatto has reportedly turned down an offer from the club and will return to his native Argentina. The 32-year old made just 6 appearances in 2015, as he sat behind the pairing of Nat Borchers and Liam Ridgewell.

Earthquakes, Union sign South American defenders: The San Jose Earthquakes have acquired 29-year-old Argentinian defender Andreas Imperiale, who last played for Saprissa in Costa Rica. The Philadelphia Union have signed 26-year-old Brazilian Anderson Conceição on loan from Tombense FC.
