It was another exciting week for the Outlaws Overseas.

Returning to their clubs following the long international break, many United States Internationals performed exceptionally for their sides. Goals from Danny Williams, Eric Lichaj, Royal-Dominique Fennell, and Bjorn Johnsen helped see all of their respective sides earn valuable points in the early parts of their seasons.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

Eric Lichaj (Nottingham Forest): Regarded as one of the most overlooked United States’ players in the world, Nottingham Forest right back Eric Lichaj has continued to perform week-in-and-week-out for his second-tier English side. Leveled at zero, the 27-year-old smashed the ball passed Birmingham’s keeper, giving his side their first out of three goals on the day.

For his performance, Lichaj found himself voted as part of the FL Championship Team of the Week.

Danny Williams (Reading FC): Upon returning to England following his time with the United States Men’s National Team, Danny Williams found himself leading his Championship club to another hard-fought draw. Receiving a well-played cross from McCleary, Williams volleyed home the equalizer in the 21st minute, scoring Reading’s one and only goal in the match.

Royal-Dominique Fennell (Hallescher FC):  Scoring once again over the weekend, it was Royal-Dominique Fennell who tallied his eighth goal of the season for his third division German side. Winning narrowly, it was Fennell’s goal that finished as the match decider in Hallescher’s 3-2 victory against Zwickau.

UNDER THE RADAR:

Bjorn Johnsen (Heart of Midlothian): Scoring his first goal for the Jam Tarts, 24-year-old North Carolina native Bjorn Johnsen continues to earn plaudits in Scotland. Being overshadowed by fellow American Perry Kitchen, Johnsen has continued to make an impact for the Hearts, potentially earning him a future starting spot with the Scottish side.
