Out of contract defender Damien Perrinelle is the face of the French clothing company Girbaud as the company relaunches itself through social media ads this weekend.
Marithe et Francois Girbaud is a French clothing company started in 1964 and reached international fame as the inventors of stonewash, baggy jeans. The company was most famous in the United States in the early 2000’s as several hip hop artists featured their style in music videos. However, the company hit hard times in 2012 as they filed for bankruptcy and closed many of their locations in 2013.
Now, the company is looking to reinvent itself and Perrinelle is part of the new ad campaign.
Perrinelle, 33-years old, is putting his good looks to use after a rough season that saw the defender play in only 10 league games in 2016. Currently the French-international is not under contract with the New York Red Bulls and may not take the field for the team barring any changes to the team’s current plans.
