Interesting tidbit on the proposed Cosmos Stadium; the site quite literally straddles the border line between Nassau County and Queens.
The above map depicts a red line clearly showing the area of separation between the borough and county. If renditions are to be believed, a good portion of the structure would be situated in Queens borough – perhaps even featuring a goal on the neighboring side.
Let there be no mistake; this is by all means 100% a Nassau County/Town of Elmont project. Still, it presents interesting fodder – especially for Cosmos supporters hoping for a home stadium within the five boroughs.

Congrats on having the nicest stadium in NASL. MLS already invested time & money into flushing project. No way they are backing out because cosmos think they are bigger then the league. If you build it they will come mentality will not work in this situation.
