Five New York City FC players will train with the Manchester City Elite Development Squad for the next ten days.

RJ Allen, Kwadwo Poku and Patrick Mullins all reportedly arrived in Manchester today to  train at Manchester City’s training facility. Empire of Soccer has learned that Thomas McNamara and Tony Taylor will also train in Manchester. None of the players are being eyed as transfer or loan options and their training stint is only for fitness.

The Asbury Park Press first reported the participation of Allen, Poku and Mullins.

Of particular interest is the participation of Taylor, who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture with lateral collateral ligament (LCL) damage this past April, signaling positive progress in the young striker’s recovery.

It was also revealed today that midfielder Mix Diskerud and forward Khiry Shelton will join the US Men’s National Team for its January camp ahead of friendly matches against Iceland and Canada.
