USL Week 21 is all about retaining momentum for teams as the congested schedule this season has been known for resumes. LA, New York, Oklahoma City and Colorado will all play multiple games this week with playoff implications hanging in the balance. The chaotic schedule which has plagued teams all season is also that element that has made the 2015 USL season quite unique.

Colorado Has a Chance to Push Into First

A big weekend for the Colorado Springs Switchbacks sees them play the Tulsa Roughnecks and Sacramento Republic FC in week 21. Two victories would push the team into first place but getting those wins will not be easy. Tulsa had a fantastic goalscoring spree last week with a 6-3 victory over Arizona United SC. Sacramento has also returned to their winning ways with an impressive 2-0 victory over Seattle Sounders FC 2.

Colorado will certainly not be intimidated. Week 20 saw them dominate a very impressive LA Galaxy II team. For a majority of the season the Switchbacks have gone relatively unnoticed. However, a two week period which will bring games against Sacramento and Seattle will certainly shine the spotlight on just what this first year team has to offer in the 2015 season.

New York May Have the Right Mix For a Run

The time is now for New York Red Bull II who spent a good portion of the first half of the season finding their feet. The results were mixed but the team stayed above the red line. Now with the addition of Devon “Speedy” Williams, Stefano Bonomo and more first team players appearing in the USL due to recent signings, the time to make a move up the table is now. The team is on a three game winning streak but the opposition will certainly not be too intimidated.

Charlotte Independence is coming off of their biggest win of the year, ending the point streak of Rochester by giving them their first loss of the season. Questions will surround which team is entering with more momentum but New York’s positive road record may be the deciding factor.
