Red Bulls Hot Stove: Ream Deal Nears, New York Names Agudelo’s Price And More

According to Goal.com Editor Alex Labidou, Tim Ream may be traveling out to England either today or tomorrow, perhaps to finalize a deal with Bolton. Though Labidou claims the agreement isn’t 100%, both Bolton and the New York Red Bulls have been feverishly negotiating transfer numbers for well over a month now. Rumors began heating up late last week as a looming transfer of Bolton centerback Gary Cahill to Chelsea intensified.

For his part, Tim Ream married this weekend in St. Louis, which may point to the reason why he hasn’t traveled out to England already. With the personal issues aside, this week may mark the end of this long rumored Ream to Bolton saga.

There is plenty more to talk about, including a strange bit of news out of Italy regarding Juan Agudelo. Let’s get this hot stove on the burners!

REPORT: RED BULLS PUT PRICE ON AGUDELO’S HEAD

Here is an interesting bit of news that ran across my desk this morning. Soccer Italia reports Liverpool boss Kenny Daglish saw enough out of Red Bull forward Juan Agudelo during his two week training stint to entice him. Apparently, the Red Bulls have “informally” set a price for the transfer of the young American, rumored to be around €2.3 million euros ($2.9 million dollars).

If the reports are to be believed, Agudelo would not be the first American plying his trade for Liverpool. Forward Villyan Bijev, 18, and midfielder Marc Pelosi, 17, are currently listed with the squad as well.

THE DAY HENRY HAS BEEN WAITING FOR

Arsenal will host Leeds United today in this third round FA Cup matchup starting at 2:30pm eastern time. It is then that club legend and New York Red Bulls captain Thierry Henry may make his official playing re-debut with the Gunners.

Though not anticipated to start, one can surely assume that such a short term loan deal would force Arsene Wenger’s hand, bringing the French legend on the pitch in an Arsenal uniform for the first time since 2007.
