As first reported by EoS, it has been officially announced that the New York Red Bulls have loaned out Canadian center back Karl Ouimette to the Jacksonville Armada.

The former Montreal Impact academy product will be a part of the Armada organization until the end of the 2016 season. Ouimette will join former Red Bull and MetroStar Tony Meola, who has managed the Jacksonville side since the beginning of the 2016 season.

In total, Ouimette has made 38 Major League Soccer appearances, 20 with the Montreal Impact and 18 with the New York Red Bulls. In addition, the 24-year-old has appeared in six matches for New York’s reserve side.

On July 5, 2012, the 24-year-old center back became the Montreal Impact’s first every Academy product to join the senior squad. Ever since, the Quebec native has gone on to make a lasting impression in the MLS as well as on the international stage, where has made 16 appearances for the Canadian national team.

Ouimette will be joining an underperforming Jacksonville Armada side who came in tenth in the NASL’s Spring Season, only finishing above Miami FC due to goal differential.
