For the second year in a row, the New York Red Bulls have come to an accord with Damien Perrinelle, bringing the French defender back for another season in Harrison.

“We are pleased to bring Damien back for 2017,” said Red Bulls head coach Jesse Marsch. “Damien has been an important part of our back line for the last two years, and we think he can continue to play a big role for us this season.”

This will be Perrinelle’s fourth season with the Red Bulls. Perrinelle has 40 league appearances for the Red Bulls with two goals and an assist in that time. Last year, his season was cut short due to injury, only appearing in ten matches and a pair of playoff encounters.

Perrinelle joins a Red Bulls defensive staff desperate for reinforcements. Currently, the club boast both Aurelien Collin and Gideon Baah as their central defense options. In total, New York is going into camp with just seven defenders, including Connor Lade, Justin Bilyeu, Kemar Lawrence and Sal Zizzo.
