Atlanta continues to make some big moves.

According to Goal USA, Club Tijuana and United States Men’s National Team defender Greg Garza is finalizing a loan deal with MLS expansion side Atlanta United. The report suggests that Atlanta United has successfully acquired the discovery rights to the 25-year-old left back and will look to acquire his services for the 2017 season.

Garza’s rights were originally held by the Columbus Crew. However, reports suggest that Atlanta has acquired the defender’s rights via trade, allowing Atlanta both the option to loan or buy the Texas native.

Garza began his professional career with Portuguese side Estoril Praia in 2010 after two years with Sporting CP’s academy. The left-back signed with Club Tijuana in late 2011, making a total of 66 appearances since his arrival. Throughout his five-year journey with the club, Garza’s involvement with the Xolos has decreased. Due to injury, the 25-year-old lost his spot with the first team and was eventually loaned to Liga MX side Atlas, where Garza only played three matches before returning.

Garza had made nine appearances for the United States Men’s National Team, making his international debut against the Czech Republic on September 3, 2014.
