Having spent two years away from Italy, United States captain Michael Bradley is rumored to make a return to Serie A.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Grant Wahl, Italian first division clubs AC Milan and Bologna FC 1909 are interested in signing the current Toronto FC midfielder.

According to Wahl, Bologna is interested in bringing Bradley in for an offseason loan in January, following both the end of the MLS season as well as the opening of the Italian transfer window. On the other hand, historic Italian club AC Milan is looking to sign the 29-year-old on a permanent deal. With Milan shooting for a chance at European football after a few underwhelming years, a Serie A veteran like Bradley could be exactly what the club needs.

Bradley spent a total of three seasons in Italy with Chievo and Roma in the country’s top division, making a total of 76 appearances and three goals before crossing the Atlantic to join current side Toronto FC.
