Report: River Plate to face NYCFC in Florida, Sevilla in New York



Will NYCFC get involved in some summer friendly action?

According to trusted Argentine soccer news source “Ole,” No venue has been announced for any of these matches.New York City FC will be facing Argentine superpower River Plate as part of their week long training camp in Florida. Los Millonarios arrive in the States on June 20th and will move back to their Ezeiza training camp in Argentina a week later.

River’s Plate will certainly be full during their brief American excursion. The team has scheduled friendly matches against NYCFC and Millonarios of Colombia’s first division for their stay at Boca Raton. Ole also reports a possible friendly to take place in New York against La Liga side, Sevilla, just before they depart the country.

The River Plate dates fall smack in the middle of two MLS fixture for NYCFC. They play Philadelphia at home on June 18 and travel to Seattle the following week for a June 25 showdown at CenturyLink.

River Plate are the reigning Copa Libertadores and Recopa champions. No venue has been announced for any of these matches.

    River Plate will move back to ezeiza A MONTH LATER, not a week as the article says…the games will be in July, the latest one against Sevilla just before they head back to Argentina for their Copa Argentina match July 23rd…
